Jim and Artie are fighting in the train. (What was Artie wearing? It looked vaguely Oriental, but I that's all I know.) A bell announces that Henrietta has arrived. Artie takes the message and decodes it. The message tells them to head for New Orleans for a vacation, and they have a presidential commendation coming. Then the telegraph tells them to forget the bird's message and to head for the Indian Reservation in Oklahoma and talk to Colonel Stanton Mayo, the Indian Commissioner. While out riding, Jim and Mayo are attacked by a couple of jousters. Mayo goes down and Jim shoots the jousters. Jim hears music, finds a snake charmer and is bitten by a cobra. Jim wakes up in what looks like a maharaja's palace. Mr. Singh wants Jim to teach his sons how to kill western style. Jim beats up the brothers and escapes. Jim searches for Mayo. When he finds him, Veda shoots a blow dart into Jim's neck. Artie loses his third game of checkers to John Mountaintop. John tells him about a haunted castle, which Artie decides to check out. Jim wakes up in a dungeon. The brothers bring in a cobra basket and leave. Veda climbs out of the basket. She unties Jim and they discuss not getting married. They kiss, while Mr. Singh watches, smiling.
Artie and John ride out to the castle. John leaves and Artie discovers Veda and a leopard. She takes him to the castle. Jim joins Singh and his sons in watching some entertainment. The last entertainer (Artie) is the Indian rope trick. Artie and Jim climb the rope and escape. After kissing Veda, Jim sends her and Artie off on a couple of horses. Jim goes back to find Mayo, only first he fall down a trap door in a possibly familiar staircase (hereafter called dungeon stairs one). He falls into a field with the brothers. They play polo, first with Jim as the goal, then with Jim as the ball. He knocks them off their horses and goes to Singh to ask him about Mayo. Mayo enters, with a gun. He tells Jim to get the Pawnee Indians to move to another area. To convince Jim, he has Artie and Veda brought in, and tells Jim that he'll kill them if Jim doesn't. This upsets Singh, who attacks and is knocked out by Mayo. Mayo takes them to the dungeon and reveals hidden oil. Singh arrives. Mayo shoots him, falls into the oil and drowns. Several weeks later, Veda sends our heroes a couple of leopard cubs.
